Do you wish your blog would write itself?

Imagine having 12 original articles your audience will find relevant and engaging written for your company so all you have to do is publish one each month. Hey presto! No more trying to find time to write articles or coming up with ideas.

I can do this for you. Each article is written to your brief and ties in with your communications strategy. Three new articles will be delivered at the start of every quarter so developments in your business or industry can be covered.

I will write your blog for next year. You can begin 2020 knowing it is taken care of and you will have material to share with your email subscribers and on social media.

The first 3 articles will arrive before Christmas, so you can start the new year with an updated blog.

What you will get

  • A 1 hour strategy call to set your goals and look at how to make the most of your content.
  • 12 original articles written for your business, giving you brand new content to publish on your website each month.
  • The first batch of 3 articles will arrive by December 20 so you’re ready to kick off in January.

How much does it cost?

I charge £180 for a single blog post and £120 for a 1 hour strategy consultation. A total of £2,280.

However, for a limited time, you can get this offer for £1,800.

This deal ends on November 26, 2019.

Add on: SEO audit

Get your website checked by an SEO expert. They’ll check if you have any significant technical issues holding your site back in Google’s search results.

They can also check your Google Analytics set-up to make sure that you can properly track and monitor the increases in traffic your new blog content drives to your business.

Add on price: £550.

* Audits will take place in January.

About Rachel Extance

I bring a journalist’s perspective to your organisation and focus on what information will be relevant and engaging to your customers – and potential customers.

I write website copy, blog posts, articles for print, social media posts, magazines – anything where you need creative copy to help your work and ideas reach a wider audience. I’m very good at simplifying complex issues to make them more accessible. I’ll also help you see the stories in your business and show you how to share them.

My background is in journalism. I worked on local newspapers for 15 years as a reporter, then on the newsdesk, managing the reporting team and planning what stories go in the paper and on the website.

I started my business, The Story Cave, in 2017 and write for a variety of clients.

What people say about me

"Rachel wrote some articles for me which were a great read and totally to brief. She is a pleasure to work with and carries out all work exactly as needed and within deadline. I thoroughly recommend her for all writing and social media work."

"I have always struggled to find the right words to talk about my business and I’ve always felt like the copy on my website is a work in progress. I don’t feel like that now and that’s because Rachel finds the right words and the right voice for me."

Frequently Asked Questions

There are several ways I can write your blog:

  • We can have a conversation about the topic you want to write about and I will use that to put an article together.
  • You might have an archive of material such as a podcast or research, which I can go through and pull blog post ideas from.
  • You can send me notes or a voice memo and I will use those to write your posts.
  • You can set the topic and ask me to go and research it.

Yes. I pay attention to your tone of voice, whether you write as yourself or a company. If you are not sure what your tone of voice is, we will discuss this on the strategy call.

I usually write around 800 words.

Not if you don’t want them to. I ghost write (sometimes called white label) a lot of articles for companies. I don’t share who my clients are unless they say it’s ok for me to do so.

A regularly updated blog is an opportunity to keep your customers updated with the latest news about your company and trends in your industry, as well as helping them by answering their questions. It’s an opportunity to share your knowledge and give people the inside scoop on what is happening.

New articles also give search engines a reason to return to your website.

“Content marketing gets three times more leads than paid search advertising. (Content Marketing Institute, 2017) (Source: https://www.hubspot.com/marketing-statistics)”

“Marketers who prioritize blogging efforts are 13x more likely to see positive ROI. (HubSpot, 2019) (Source: https://www.hubspot.com/marketing-statistics)”

I offer a draft and up to two revisions. This gives us plenty of opportunity to make sure you have an article you are happy to share.

We could come up with 12 topics for articles during our strategy session, however, you might want to write about different things during the course of the year. For instance, you might develop a new method you want to talk about, or share news from a conference you have been to. By looking at your blog quarterly, we can make sure you are staying on top of the latest news in your industry and keeping people up to date with what’s happening in your business.

I offer a monthly retainer package if you would like to blog weekly. It costs £600 for 4 articles. The minimum commitment is 3 months.

We will have a free 15 minute discovery call to make sure we’re a good fit. You book that by filling in the form at the bottom of the page and I will be in touch with you to arrange a phone or Zoom call.

I will ask you some questions about your business, existing marketing strategy and blog in preparation for the strategy call.

The strategy call will take place about a week later. It lasts 1 hour and is an opportunity for us to identify stories in your business and opportunities for you to share relevant and engaging information with your customers. During this call we will develop a plan for the first three articles.

When each batch of 3 articles is delivered, we will have a follow-up call for us to talk about the material you have received and plan the next three. Dates for all calls will be arranged at the start of the year.

If I need to interview you or a member of your team for articles, we will arrange that at least 6 weeks before each new batch of articles is due.

I work with SEO specialist Andrew Cock-Starkey. Andrew has been working in digital marketing for two decades. He runs the popular Optimisey SEO meet-up in Cambridge and is a self-confessed SEO nerd. He keeps up with the latest developments in SEO to help people get better quality traffic to their websites.

We need access to your Google Analytics and Google Search Console (if you don’t have this already, we can get you set up, depending on your CMS). If you have a Google Tag Manager account, we’ll use that too.
